Cote d’Ivoire violence kills scores
The United Nations says more than 170 people were killed in continued violence over disputed presidential elections.

More than 170 people have been killed in post-election violence in Cote d’Ivoire, according to the United Nations.
The world body’s human rights office said hundreds more have been arrested after last month’s disputed presidential election.
A spokesman for Laurent Gbagbo, the incumbent president, said the army is unified behind him despite international calls for him to step down.
Al Jazeera’s Ama Boateng in Abidjan, interviews Henry Konan Bedie, the country’s former leader, adding his voice to the growing chorus trying to convince Gbagbo to step aside.
