Football’s governing body Fifa is set to name winners of the bid to host the 2018 and 2022 World Cups in a few hours.
Six European countries are competing to host the 2018 tournament. Besides England and Russia, there are joint bids from Belgium-Netherlands and Spain-Portugal.
The hopefuls for 2022 include Japan, Qatar, South Korea, the United States and Australia. All bidders have made their final presentations.
But the lead-up has been overshadowed by claims of corruption, though Fifa boss Sepp Blatter says Thursday’s voting will be fair.
