Asylum seekers are willing to take huge risks and put their lives in the hands of the smugglers they hope will deliver them to a better life.

Some of these people have been stranded in Indonesia for years, with little hope of reaching their dream of a better life.

For many, crossing the ocean is a risk they’re prepared to take. Even if it is the last thing they do.

Al Jazeera’s Syarina Hasibuan reports from Jakarta.
