As the global economic crisis unfold, Asian restaurant workers in the UK are struggling to survive and many find it hard to send money back to their families.

The villagers of Bishnawat Sylhet in Bangladesh are entirely dependent on remittances from the UK.

According to the World Bank, Bangladeshi migrants to Britain sent back an average of a $1000 US dollars to their families in 2009.

The strain of the global economic crisis means that many villagers in Bangladesh may have to take up extra work to survive.
