A funny way to look at Myanmar vote
Political satire reflects widespread scepticism over Sunday’s general elections.
Myanmar is set to hold its first general elections in two decades on Sunday, which the ruling junta says will help transform the autocracy into a democracy.
But the country’s main opposition parties have accused the political group representing the military government of “cheating” and “threatening” voters in the run-up to the election.
Many in the country are sceptical that the vote will be conducted in a fair manner and have called for a poll boycott. They say the election is an attempt by the military rulers to make the government appear legitimate.
