Decline in Canada polar bears

Research has shown that Canada’s polar bear population, world’s largest, is in decline.

The latest round of UN climate change talks are underway in Cancun, Mexico – and as world leaders debate ways to tackle global warming, conservationists say polar bears are being hit hard.

Canada is home to two-thirds of the world’s polar bear population, but research has shown numbers are declining rapidly.
