Thousands of young Mexicans are increasingly being used as foot soldiers by powerful and wealthy drug cartels across the country.

It is estimated that around 120,000 residents of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico’s most violent city, aged 13 – 24 neither work nor go to school, and the national unemployment total is reported to be seven million.

Al Jazeera’s Craig Mauro reports from Ciudad Juarez on those struggling to get a foot on the employment ladder.
