Cholera penetrates displacement camp

For the first time there has been a confirmed case of cholera in one of the camps housing earthquake survivors around Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince.

With thousands of people living together in cramped, unhygienic conditions, the development of the disease is one officials had been fearing ever since the epidemic began three weeks ago.

The disease has already killed 643 people, with thousands more being treated.

Al Jazeera’s Cath Turner reports from Port-au-Prince.
