Navajo could see female president
Members of Native American tribe hope candidate in Tuesday poll will tackle domestic violence.

As voters in the US head to the polls for midterm elections, members of the Navajo, the largest Native American tribe in the US, are set to participate in their own polls.
The presidential election on Tuesday could mark a break from tradition and a move towards reform, with a high possibility that Lynda Lovejoy, a Navajo candidate, could become the the tribe’s first female president.
Many have high hopes that she will tackle serious domestic violence and sexual abuse against women.
