Fears of fresh violence in Kyrgyzstan

Tensions high ahead of October poll, just months after deadly inter-ethnic violence.

Police in Kyrgyzstan are reportedly playing down rumours that inter-ethnic violence is flaring up again in the southern city of Osh, just months after deadly violence between ethnic communities gripped the country.
