Controversy over body scanners

Full body scanners installed in airports in the wake of the attempted bombing of a Christmas Day flight to the US are raising questions over privacy, health and cost.

In Europe, experts are gathering to assess the need for their introduction, with the EU holding a meeting this week to discuss whether to put them to use in all member states.

Some airports, however, are not waiting for a consensus and are already using the technology.
