Barack Obama, the US president, has delivered his first state of the union address.
Afghanistan and Iraq were mentioned, but the main focus was getting the US economy back on its feet.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, Spencer Ackerman, a senior reporter at the Washington Independent, said that he was surprised at how little time was spent on addressing foreign policy.
