Commemorations marking the anniversary of the attacks against the US on September 11, 2001 have been overshadowed over plans for an Islamic centre to be built near Ground Zero and a Florida pastor’s threat to burn Qurans.
Al Jazeera spoke to Reverend Jesse Jackson, the former US presidential candidate, about the controversies and signs of rising Islamophobia in the US.
