Pakistanis given controversial aid

Charities linked to banned groups help flood victims amid criticism of the government.

The Pakistani government and international aid agencies have been criticised for their slow response to the floods crisis, leaving room for local Islamic charities to step in and help those suffering.

Some of them have links to groups banned by the government.

But as Al Jazeera’s Zeina Khodr reports from Karachi, what matters for flood victims is not who they are getting help from but that they are getting any help at all.
