Heavy clashes in Mogadishu, the Somali capital, has flared for the third consecutive day, leaving six people dead – taking the death toll to more than 60 in two days.

Another 25 people were injured in the latest attacks on Wednesday, in the Bakara market area.

Battles between government forces, backed by African Union troops, and al-Shabab fighters continued on several fronts in the north and south of the capital.

Both sides claim they are winning the fight. However, as Al Jazeera’s Jamal Elshayyal reports, it is the civilians caught in the middle who are suffering most.
