Fireflies face extinction as forests which sustain them are being cut down.

Tourists from all over the world come to Malaysia to watch the illuminations created when millions of male and female fireflies communicate with each other.
But their glow is fading. Over time, developers have been cutting down the forests that sustain the insects.
Al Jazeera’s Laura Kyle spent a night along the Kuala Selangor river in the state of Selangor, where efforts to save the fireflies could be too late.
