Hong Kong media said the woman may have died from Sars, but the WHO said there was no evidence of that

But Sari Setiogi, a World Health Organisation (WHO) spokeswoman, told reporters that the UN health agency had not received any information to support the report, nor had Russian authorities identified Sars as the cause of the death.

“At the moment there are 53 contacts of the woman in quarantine in hospital,” he said.

“Samples have been taken from the woman and her contacts and laboratory investigations are ongoing.”
