Military talks at Korea border

Meeting between N Korea and US-led UN command comes amid rising tensions on peninsula.

At the weekend North Korean media carried a statement from the ruling communist party warning the US and South Korea against holding joint military exercises planned to begin next week.

“This is nothing but reckless provocative acts of pushing the tense situation on the Korean peninsula closer to the outbreak of a nuclear war,” it said.
