Climate deal a tough sell in US

Oil, gas and chemical sectors in Texas set to oppose greater restrictions.

Barack Obama, the US president, has been facing a tough crowd in Copenhagen where he is trying to persuade world leaders on a climate change agreement. He faces an even tougher audience in the United States.

Even if Obama were to sign an agreement, it will need to be approved by the US congress.

But powerful lobbyists in the energy sector are already saying the economy will suffer under any new regulations.

Al Jazeera’s Sebastian Walker reports from Houston, Texas where workers from the state’s oil and gas sector say Obama has little chance of convincing the American people.
