Iraqis oppose censorship laws

New restrictions on books and websites raise censorship fears.

Following the fall of Saddam Hussein’s dictatorship in Iraq, the country’s cultural scene witnessed a revolution and previously banned material became widely available.

Six years have passed since the Iraqi leader was deposed and the government is placing new restrictions on books and websites.

However, some Iraqis fear that implementing such restrictions is the beginning of more limits on their freedom.

Al Jazeera’s Omar Saleh reports.
