‘Green Army’ mulls carbon trading

The world’s poorest are often the world’s greatest recyclers.
On a recent visit to the slums of Peru, Al Jazeera found environmental innovation in action.
One activist, Albina Ruiz Rios, runs a waste collection scheme to clean-up the outskirts of the Peruvian capital, Lima.
The programme is borne of necessity … but with carbon trading she hopes that her so-called “green army” can show how one man’s rubbish can be another man’s treasure.
