Iraq passes election law
Legislation paves way for upcoming national elections in January.

The Iraqi parliament has passed a long-delayed law that will clear the way for national elections in January.
The bill had stalled over how voting would be handled in Kirkuk, an oil rich city in the country’s north claimed by Iraq’s Kurds and Arabs.
