The US president has honoured America’s war veterans, on the same day that he met with his national security team to discuss whether to send more troops to Afghanistan.
Jonathan Bartlett is one of the soldiers Barack Obama paid tribute to on Veterans Day. Bartlett wanted to go to Afghanistan after the September 11th attacks.
Instead he was sent to Iraq – and two months later lost both of his legs in a bomb attack on his army truck.
