Video: Typhoon lashes Manila

Scores of people feared dead in worst flooding in almost 40 years.

Scores of people have been killed and thousands have fled their homes in the Philippines after a whole month’s rain fell in just six hours.

Houses were swept away by swollen rivers and people were trapped on rooftops and flooded highways.

The storm is said to have brought the heaviest rainfall seen in the country since 1967.

Thousands of travellers are stuck in the chaos, including Al Jazeera’s correspondent Marga Ortigas, who filed this report from Manila airport.
