Video: US army gay law unearthed

Obama asked to overturn “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” law, which denies homosexuals army employment.

A US law called “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” forbids anyone who is openly gay or lesbian from serving in the military. As a presidential candidate, Barack Obama, the US president, promised to overturn it.

But since his election more than 300 soldiers have been discharged because they are gay. Al Jazeera’s Cath Turner explains.
