Two rescued workers die in hospital while 16 bodies are found after a shaft cave-in.

Official figures indicate that nearly 3,800 died in Chinese coal mines last year, down 20 per cent from the year before.
But many independent labour groups say the actual death toll is much higher, stating that many accidents are covered up to prevent costly shutdowns and legal action.
Coal-generated power accounts for around 70 per cent of China’s fast-expanding energy needs.
