Is al-Qaeda getting weaker as time passes, as CIA director Michael Hayden argues, or is it getting stronger? Is support for its ideology waning in the Muslim world?
On Tuesday Riz speaks with Abdel Bari Atwan, the author of The Secret History of Al Qaeda. Atwan is the editor of one of the largest pan-Arab daily newspapers, Al-Quds al-Arabi, based in London.
Reuel Gerecht, a former Central Intelligence Agency officer and a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, also joins the show.
He is the author of The Islamic Paradox: Shiite Clerics, Sunni Fundamentalists, and the Coming of Arab Democracy.
