Deadly tornados hit US states

Hundreds of homes destroyed as storms wreak havoc in Colorado, Kansas and Oklahoma.

The region was pelted with hail the size of golf balls and trains tipped from railway lines, residents reported.
 
There has been a rising number of tornados in recent years, but scientists say no link has yet been established with global warming.
 
Tornados across the US have killed at least 100 people so far this year, according to the US National Weather Service, making it one of the deadliest tornado seasons for a decade.
