Double-amputee sprinter Oscar Pistorius says the London Olympics may be a more realistic goal, but that he held hopes of racing in Beijing.

Pistorius was speaking to reporters in South Africa Monday after returning from Europe, where the Court of Arbitration for Sport overturned a ruling by the International Association of Athletics Federations that had barred him from the Olympics.

The sports court says the 21-year-old South African’s prosthetic racing blades do not give him an unfair advantage over able-bodied runners.

Pistorius says he will be participating in meets in the coming weeks to try to qualify for Beijing, but acknowledges it will be difficult to get into the proper shape.

He says the London Games also are in his sights.
