26 killed in Latvia care home fire
Extreme cold hinders rescue efforts after the building’s roof collapses.

The blaze caused the roof of the two-storeyed building to collapse.
It was not immediately clear what started the blaze.
Rescue efforts were hampered by extreme cold — the temperature reached minus 25 Celsius – as several sources of water were frozen.
Veisa said firefighters were forced to dig holes in the ice to find water.
She said the care home had residents of all ages.
