Concrete slabs crush cars and pedestrians in southern Indian city.

Balwinder Singh, the city police chief, said the collapse appeared to have been caused by construction failure.
 
“The indications are that structural problems had led to the mishap,” the Press Trust of India news agency quoted him as saying.
