Iraqi Sunnis to end parliament boycott
One of Iraq’s largest Sunni blocs has said it is to end a week-long boycott of parliament.

The decision comes after a call for unity by the Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr and promises that a kidnapped legislator would be freed soon.
Adnan al-Dulaimi, a leader of the Iraqi Accordance Front, said: “We have decided after the many calls we have received from different political parties to put an end to the boycott and return to parliament on Wednesday.”
Al-Dulaimi has led a legislative boycott since Taiseer al-Mashhadani was kidnapped along with seven of her bodyguards in a Shia area of Baghdad on July 1.
He said the kidnappers had released two of al-Mashhadani’s bodyguards and that they had assured him that she would be freed soon.
