Ala Arabi, 24, a member of the armed wing of the Fatah faction, was shot dead on Monday in the street by an Israeli army unit disguised as Palestinians, they said.
The soldiers lept from a civilian car and immediately opened fire.
Arabi’s death brings to 5,356 the number of people killed since the start of the Palestinian intifada or uprising in September 2000, most of them Palestinians, according to an AFP count.
