Pioneering US architect dead at 98
Trend-setting US architect Philip Johnson, whose glass skyscrapers helped define America’s urban landscape, has died at the age of 98.

Johnson was at home in New Canaan, Connecticut, when he died on Tuesday evening, according to his lawyer’s office.
His cause of death was not immediately available.
Johnson was a prolific designer whose creations include the so-called Glass House, a transparent box, in Connecticut, the New York State Theatre, New York’s Asia House and the American Telephone & Telegraph Building in Manhattan, which is known as the “Chippendale Building” and is now owned by Sony.
