This is the list of 12 former officials who are to stand trial before Iraq’s special tribunal:

Arrested 21 August, 2003

Aziz Saleh al-Numan, head of the former ruling Baath party for western Baghdad
Arrested 22 May, 2003

Muhammad Hamza al-Zubaidi, former member of the decision-making Revolutionary Command Council
Arrested 20 April, 2003

Kamal Mustafa Abd Allah, commander of the elite Republican Guards
Arrested 17 May, 2003

Taha Yassin Ramadan, vice president, close Saddam aide
Arrested 18 August, 2003

Tariq Aziz, deputy prime minister
Surrendered 25 April, 2003

Sultan Hashim Ahmad, defence minister,
Surrendered on 19 September, 2003

Watban Ibrahim Hassan al-Tikriti, presidential adviser and half-brother of Saddam
Arrested 13 April, 2003

Barzan Ibrahim Hassan al-Tikriti, presidential adviser and also half-brother
Arrested 16 April, 2003

Sabir Abd al-Aziz al-Douri, military intelligence chief and mayor of Baghdad.
He does not figure on the coalition’s list of 55 most-wanted figures from the former government.
