Arab league bars Israeli journalists
The Arab League headquarters in Cairo has denied entry to two Israelis who had been sent to Egypt by a Spanish television station.
The station had sent the Israelis on Monday from its office in Jerusalem to help conduct an interview with Arab League Secretary General Amr Mussa, which was cancelled after the pair were refused entry, a league official said on Tuesday.
The name of the television station was not immediately available, while the Israeli embassy said it had no information about the incident.
Israel has had diplomatic and commercial ties with Egypt since they signed a peace treaty in 1979, but has none with the Arab League, most of whose 22 members do not have any relations with the Jewish state.
Jordan and Egypt are the only Arab countries who signed peace treaties with Israel.
