Three Palestinians die after Israeli raids
Three Palestinians, including a 50-year-old woman, have died following separate raids by Israeli occupation troops in the West Bank.
In the latest incident, Palestinian security sources said Ahmad Kulaib, 22, was shot in the chest during an Israeli raid into his village near Qaliqiliya on Thursday.
Israeli military sources said Kulaib had been seen by soldiers “throwing a large object” toward a settler’s car without hitting it. The soldiers then fired at him, the sources said.
Earlier in the day, Israeli soldiers shot dead a Palestinian member of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades resistance group in the Sharqi quarter of Jenin in the West Bank.
Tariq Abu Surur, 20, was killed during an exchange of fire with an Israeli special forces unit. The Israelis suspected Abu Surur of having taken part in attacks on other colonies.
Those deaths bring to 3949 the number of people killed in direct action since the current Palestinian uprising began in September 2000. The toll includes 2979 Palestinians and 900 Israelis.
Woman gassed
A 50-year-old Palestinian woman also died from the effects of tear gas fired by Israeli soldiers into her home in the Farha refugee camp near Jenin.
Hospital sources said Subrieh Ab al-Badah became ill after inhaling tear gas and later died from respiratory failure.
Aljazeera’s correspondent in Jenin reported that Aljazeera cameraman, Nabil Mazawi, was wounded on Wednesday when he was shot in the leg by an Israeli soldier while filming clashes in al-Faria refugee camp south of Jenin.
He received the treatment at a hospital and is recovering.
Al-Faria refugee camp had witnessed confrontations that left 12 Palestinians wounded.
