The pledge came in the background of talks on the
Middle East and Iraq between Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal and his Russian counterpart Igor Ivanov in Moscow on Wednesday.
“The international community faces international threats and challenges such as terrorism, and we must cooperate closely to resolve these problems,” Ivanov said as the two ministers went into a meeting.
“We are interested in continuing our consultations with the Saudi leadership which is well known in the Arab world for its efforts” to find a solution to conflicts in the Middle East and Iraq, he said.
Faisal noted that both sides displayed “mutual trust” in their consultations.
He is accompanying Saudi Arabia’s de facto ruler Crown Prince Abd Allah bin Abd al-Aziz on a three-day visit to Russia.
