Israel to ease Gaza closure

Israel might ease its strict closure on the Gaza Strip on Sunday, letting a limited number of Palestinian workers in.

Some Palestinian workers can get back to work if the closure is lifted

Sources said Palestinian workers aged over 35 and in possession of permits would be allowed to enter the Jewish state.

Israeli military officials confirmed that Israel would partially lift the closure, allowing about 10,000 people in the Gaza Strip to return to their jobs across the border.

Israel had sealed its borders with the Palestinian territories about four weeks ago following the bomb attack in the coastal town of Haifa.

On Wednesday, Israel allowed civilian vehicles to move among the towns and cities of the West Bank and around 3,000 Palestinian traders and merchants were given permission to enter Israel.
