Second Colombian journalist killed

The bullet-ridden body of journalist Andres Carmona, 29, was found in the Colombian city of Medellin, confirming the second death of a reporter in as many days.

Carmona, who was discovered late on Monday, disappeared on Friday. He worked for RCN Radio until he left to resume journalism studies. Relatives identified his body, according to police sources.

Another journalist, Juan Carlo Benavides, was killed and a colleague Jaime Conrado was wounded early on Saturday by Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) rebels at a roadblock in southern Putumayo province.

Their driver had refused to stop at the roadblock. At least 120 journalists have died in Colombia in the past 14 years, according to the Inter-American Press Association and other media bodies.
