France(***)s national forecast agency, Meteo France, issued severe weather alerts across 13 departments in the south of France and Corsica ahead of the damaging winds and flooding rains.
Dozens of buildings were destroyed across southestern France.
At least four people died and several others are still unaccounted for after the storms.
In Serignan, two people were buried in their house after the appearance of a mini-tornado. At least ten people were injured and many roofs were torn off in the area.
As the violent storms hit southern France, a campsite in Serignan was destroyed beyond all recognition.
Strong winds and torrential rains have transformed the landscape. Meteo France have also predicted up to 140mm of rainfall for the Var and Alpes-Maritimes regions, which are already saturated after days of heavy rain.
