From an arctic outbreak in China to wet and windy weather in the UK, here is a look at last week’s weather in pictures.

A bitter polar outbreak across much of Siberia, northeastern China and Mongolia, meant temperatures stayed well below freezing for millions, with many record lows being broken.

Across Europe, winter came in the form of wet and windy storms. Gale force winds swept across northern Europe, causing power outages, downed trees and delays at airports from the UK, eastward into Poland.
