In pictures: Scenes from voting day in Uganda
Published On 18 Feb 2016
Ugandans have started casting their votes to decide whether to give Yoweri Museveni, in power for three decades, another term in office.
Because of delays in delivering voting materials, voting started late at many polling stations, and at some stations voting had not even begun several minutes after the official opening time.
Museveni faces a strong challenge from his main rival, Kizza Besigye, who says he does not believe the election will be free or fair.
More than 15 million people are registered to vote. Polls close at 4pm local time.
