In Pictures: Pre-World Cup friendlies

As the start of the football World Cup approaches, Al Jazeera takes a look at action from the final warm-up matches.

Ivory Coast cruised to a 2-1 win over El Salvador with Gervinho netted the opener after just nine minutes and Didier Drogba doubling the lead just before half-time.

The final round of warm-up matches before the World Cup has finished and the teams are frantically making their last minute preparations for Brazil.

They will now travel to their respective accommodation in Brazil and the first game features the home nation against Croatia on 12 June.

In the absence of Luis Suarez, Edinson Cavani steps up with a goal as Uraguay strolled past Slovenia 2-0.

It is Fred to the rescue as World Cup hosts Brazil beat Serbia 1-0 in their final warm-up game.
Italy slumped to a surprise draw against minnows Luxembourg after using the occasion to unsuccessfully experiment with a more attack-minded system.
Arjen Robben was the star of the show scoring once and setting up another as the Oranje eased to a 2-0 victory over a weakened Wales team.
Javier Hernandez was unable to find a way through the defence as Mexico lost 1-0 to a weakened Portugal side missing Cristiano Ronaldo.
Miroslav Klose became Germany(***)s record goalscorer in a comfortable 6-1 win against Armenia. Klose came off the bench to head in his 69th international goal.

However the big win came at a price as Marco Reus, who was in tears as he left the pitch, picked up an ankle injury and will now not fly to Brazil.
There was a double injury blow for France with Bayern Munich(***)s Franck Ribery and Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier both being ruled out of the World Cup with injury.
However, Ramadel Falcao(***)s tournament-ending injury may prove to me most significant as the Monaco striker played a key role in Colombia(***)s qualifying campaign, scoring nine goals in 13 matches.
