Temperatures in parts of Moscow soared over 30C on Wednesday. This is over 11C above the May average.
Weather this hot was too much for some residents to bear.
Sprinklers produced a rainbow in the Lustgarten in Berlin, Germany.
Temperatures soared to 31C in Munich, Germany.
Temperatures in Germany will drop on Friday as thunderstorms cross the country. In Moscow, however, they will stay high throughout the weekend.
Earlier this week the Balkans was hit by the worst rains in 100 years, but now the temperatures have soared.
The heat is a stark contrast to the weather in Western Europe, where rain and thunderstorms prevail.
