The results are part of a bigger doping crisis hitting Jamaica, the home of Usain Bolt and a country which has dominated sprinting medals at recent Olympics. We take a look at some of the other doping scandals to have hit sprinting in recent times [GETTY]

In perhaps the biggest scandal to hit the Olympic Games, Canada(***)s Ben Johnson was stripped of his 100m gold medal at the 1998 Seoul Games after testing positive for banned steroids [GETTY]

At 32, Britain(***)s Linford Christie became the oldest man to win gold in the 100m with victory at the Barcelona Olympics. Seven years later he tested positive for the steroid nandrolone [GETTY]

He finished fourth in the 100m at the Sydney Olympics, but Dwain Chambers received a two-year ban in 2003 for testing positive for the designer steroid THG in the BALCO laboratory scandal [GETTY]

Two very high profile victims of the BALCO scandal were the USA’s Tim Montgomery and Marion Jones, both who confessed to doping at the Sydney Games. After years of denial, Jones confessed to being a drugs cheat and was jailed for lying to federal investigators [GETTY]

He won bronze in the 100m at the London Games, but the USA(***)s Justin Gatlin has served two doping bans, including four years for excessive levels of testosterone [GETTY]

Jamaica’s Veronica Campbell-Brown, twice the Olympic 200m champion, is currently suspended after testing positive for a banned diuretic in May this year [GETTY]

Staying in Jamaica, Sherone Simpson, the 2004 gold medallist and London silver medallist in the 4x100 relay team tested positive for the banned stimulant oxilophrine at last month(***)s Jamaican athletics championships [GETTY]

And who could forget Katerina Thanou and Kostas Kenteris of Greece, who were accused of faking a motorcycle crash just before the 2004 Athens Olympics to skip a dope test [GETTY]
