Chile’s first round of presidential elections takes place on November 17. Out of the nine primary candidates and dozens of political parties campaigning, pollsters believe that the New Majority coalition, a group of centre-left parties, will win the majority of seats and the presidency. Their candidate is Michelle Bachelet, who was president from 2006-10.
