Slums as artistic canvasses

A Paris-based street artist who uses the world’s slums as his canvas has been awarded a prize from the TED group.

The 2011 TED Prize, an award given by a progressive California nonprofit organisation for the sake of world betterment, has been given to JR, a guerilla artist who installs his works in slums and refugee camps [JR/Agence VU]
