Church of England appoints first female bishop

Reverand Libby Lane’s consecration came after church ended long and divisive debate by voting last year.

The Church of England has ordained its first female bishop on Monday. Reverand Libby Lane became the eighth Bishop of Stockport in a sevice at York Minster.

Here consecration came after the church ended a long and divisive dispute by voting last year year to allow women to serve as bishops.
