Cuban film school aims to counter Hollywood

Institution founded by Nobel winner Gabriel Garcia Marquez sets sight on educating ‘Third World’ filmmakers.

Cuba’s International Film School sits in a small town about an hour’s drive from the capital, Havana.

But the school is winning a reputation and developing an influence far greater than its modest setting would suggest.
